David Bartram

I met David in 1991 when I interviewed him for a Technical Service role at Janssen Animal Health – we had many applicants – David was the best by some margin. We worked together for several years – we had a lot of fun and made a lot of progress on all that we were working on – he was a great guy to work with, and he was an exceptional technical service vet. We both moved on in the mid-nineties. David went on to bigger and better roles in other companies and then his mental health issues emerged. He was brave in facing those issues but in true David style he did not only face them – he also went out to do something about the issue of mental health in the profession and beyond. I will remember David’s competence, his modesty, his compassion and his sense of humour among many other fond memories. He was a totally trustworthy individual who always strove to do his very best in every situation. David truly is sadly missed – my heartfelt condolences go out to all of those who were very close to him. His passing is tragic – his work and his reputation will live on.
