I was shocked and saddened to hear of Wullie’s passing.

Wullie really was a key member of the Cumbernauld service team and worked in both the workshop and service support office during my time as Barlow Handling Divisional Director Scotland from 1994 to 2000 but more than that brought real energy and a wicked sense of humour to the team.

Whilst never proven, i remain convinced he was the author or at least the editor and key contributor of the unofficial Cumbernauld news letter that would appear once or twice a year. It was a humorous view of depot activity complete with the odd cartoon and a roasting for the management. 

With the strongest of work ethics he combined this with a real team player as his colleagues today have commented on.

My sincere condolences to his family and his close friends and colleagues who will be missing his influence and friendship.
