Firefighter Paul Balch (Balchy)

Balchy was one in a million. A friendly, genuine, caring and very mischievous colleague who is sorely missed by everyone that knew him.

We met through work when i was at Bexhill and we have crossed paths professionally until we were finally working together on Green Watch @ Bohemia Rd (it was fate). As a newbie to watch, Balchy was always making the effort to chat and make sure i was settling in alright. We would have catch phrases that he would take home and get ridiculed for talking nonsense. If i was quiet he would poke his head from behind a door or under a desk. Anyone who knows me will get that its very much what I would do so i found a kinship.

I miss our antics, his Rocky anthem playing in the gym and literally everything about him. There is so much to celebrate of his life and I will try and take some of his values forward in my life not only to be a better person but to also carry on his spirit of life moving forward.

Thanks for being in my memories and I am proud to have called you a friend.
