You were like a candle full of light, now you have returned to the Almighty source of light. It is so sad you were cut off in your prime when the blessings of God were beginning to pour heavily on you.

The news of your demise less than 24 hours after we spoke came as a rude shock to me. I had just woken up on Christmas morning when I checked my phone and saw a message from your colleague which read: “I have a sad news for you. Your friend Goody died of heart attack this morning”. In my confused state, I put a call immediately to the most appropriate person for confirmation. Sadly, the tone in his voice confirmed it all. 

We had been childhood friends way back in Festac and I still have exquisitely beautiful memories of our childhood and the golden moments we shared at UNIBEN doing “fine boy”. You were a profound tactician and great dresser who invested heavily on designer baffs, all of which earned you great recognition and respect from the men that held sway over the entire campus. 

Until your transition to eternal glory, you remained a very close friend and confidant. I will surely miss the wisdom in your advice.
