So very saddened by Tom’s passing.  He was such a driving force in our field of work for so many years.  And really great company whether over a coffee or a beer.  I had the pleasure to know and work with Tom since his Manchester City days.  He cared so much, always bringing his belief in what could be achieved, honesty and absolute professionalism to every meeting and every project.  His contribution to the brilliant work that goes on across the country to improve the lives of thousand of people cannot be over-estimated.  He was never afraid to suggest how things could be done better, give advice and encouragement and set the bar high.  He never sought the glory, but I really hope he had some idea of what high esteem he was held in.  It was great knowing you Tom.  Know that you made a difference in the world and to those that knew you.
