I was deeply saddened to hear of Bernard’s passing. It was a true privilege to work with him as his Research Assistant for nine months last year. Bernard was always so friendly, kind, and full of warmth. I will always cherish the memory of our regular breakfasts meetings together, enjoying a croissant and coffee while discussing both work and life. His remarkable intellect and reputation as a respected academic were matched only by his genuine care for others. I will remember him fondly and feel incredibly fortunate to have had the chance to learn from him.
