The memory of Janet’s striking blue eyes, quiet poise and unfailing courtesy remain with me when I think of her.

We were both ” late finishers” in the office and I recall with gratitude her company late into the early evenings as we worked together in companionable silence; Janet always asking me before we left about my  evening or weekend plans and wishing me well. She gave so freely of her time and knowledge. Her sense of responsibility, conscientious and objectivity marked her out as a colleague: it was an honour to have worked with her, and I am so sorry for your loss and ours.
