John was one of the first people I collaborated closely with at Durkan, working together to produce a bid for a large design and build contract. From my first meeting with John, I instantly felt he was a kind, calm, caring person of great integrity and he proceeded to spend the next 7 years proving me right. John was always my “go to” for technical advice, whether for a bid or when I was building my house, and he would always have the answer, without fail. Latterly, John has been a confidante, providing a listening ear and fatherly advice, for which I am truly grateful. John is a colleague, but more importantly a friend, who will be deeply missed.
