Jane Champion

We are all so saddened and shaken by the untimely passing of Jane who had so much more to give this world.

I first met Jane outside Fatface many years ago. She was running, I think towing Bob along on his bike. She had determination and energy. I was introduced to them by Lorraine whose friendship with Jane in particular grew deep and valued. Years after they ran and completed the Great North, side by side, from start to finish.

Jane was never afraid to voice her opinion. You got honesty from Jane. She stuck up for what she thought was right and the things she valued. What she valued most was her family and her friends. There are not many people you would rather have in your corner.

She was warm and had a great sense of humour.

She has been a great friend to us both but I know to Lorraine it was much much deeper. They spent many hours together including some holidays, just the two of them. She provided endless support and council to Lorraine and I know there is an unfillable whole in her heart without Jane.

I am so sad for her passing but privileged and blessed to have had her in my life and that she regarded me as a friend and not just the husband of one of her closest friends x
