With great sadness I have learnt about the sudden and unexpected death of Professor Jo Arendt. I shall always remember Jo as a true scholar, an inspiring scientist and an outstanding ambassador of pineal and biological rhythm research in Europe and as friend. I shall miss Jo and our discussions about biological rhythms research in the real world, often while having a cigarette in the breaks of conferences.
