I was so sorry to hear the sad news about Michael Humphreys and send my deepest condolences to his family.

As a fellow academic in the field of human thermal comfort research, I knew Michael for many years, meeting at conferences the world over (especially Windsor), listening to his inspiring presentations and enjoying relaxing conversations and thought-provoking discussions. Michael, a global leader in the field, completely changed our understanding of human thermal comfort. It has been a privilege to share friendship and discussions with such a warm and wonderful gentleman.

Michael leaves an enduring legacy, not only for the scientific community and for all who apply knowledge in thermal comfort design, but also as an exemplar of what it means to be a kind, gentle and compassionate human being.
