Olivia Ansell: 1991 to 2025

“Everyone needs Olivia” that’s what we say in our household. It’s even a term my wife uses at her work. Olivia has become the definition of grace with professionalism, joy with seriousness, compassion with firmness. I’ve simply never worked with someone with such a gift in what she does.

I laugh at the time we were at a party and Olivia was looking after our two-year-old. Our child was playing with sand and Olivia pretending to eat a cake made out of it. Thinking this was the funniest thing in the world our child then decided to actually eat the sand. Olivia was mortified and tried to wash it out but it was far too late. Everybody just ended up laughing, and our kid was just fine.

I can’t count how many times Olivia saved my bacon. Every single week she helped me, every month she got me out of a problem that a client or I had caused, and year by year she help me excel. I needed Olivia to perform at the highest level of expertise. She is the central figure in the best team I’ve ever worked in.

Most of all Olivia saved my career. My life and my wifes came crashing down one day, never to be the same. The same son that ate the sand had been diagnosed with an aggressive lifelong illness. He needs constant care, constant compassion and will never leave our home. Through the depression and turmoil I knew I had to leave my job and find something easier, more mundane. And here is where Olivia came in with the rest of the team. Supporting me when my life was collapsing and popping me up to survive. As the years went by we got stronger, we adapted and one day we started flourish. Behind us was the Olivia’s of the world saving my bacon once again.

“Everyone needs an Olivia”, we still say this and we always will.
