Sad to hear of Mr Shorts passing. As many people have said in these postings, my time at Borden and the opportunities provided changed my life. I am sure that Mr Short – Uncle Brian – was greatly responsible for the atmosphere in the school and the     way all of us were treated and so how we turned out. 

I’m sure that that there was never anything in the rumour that I became headboy because Richard Short was running a sweepstake and had drawn my name!
