Richard’s achievements and influence across pet nutrition were significant. He was also my line manager for a time, and helped me to design and interpret studies more effectively. But my fondest memories of Richard are from outside the workplace, when we spoke about family, holidays and the things that matter most. One particular time was during COVID, when, on a cycle ride through my village, he saw me and we ended up talking for over an hour. He always spoke about his family with such pride, warmth, and love, and showed deep kindness and interest in my family too. The professional legacy is important, but it’s the thoughtful, kind, family man who I will remember most. My thoughts and best wishes go to his family and friends…
