From my early days in Lloyd’s Nick taught me in no uncertain terms that turning up at the box with a Sri Lankan Political Violence risk (back then) and having absolutely no idea of what the asset was or more importantly its location was not good broking nor good for my career. He was from that point onwards a massive influence to me and all I’ve worked with, it’s incredibly sad that his mentoring can’t rub off on more in a time when we possibly need it the most. 

“Ber her her her” – I will truly miss and never forget his infectious laugh and banter. I really hope you’re on the course or at least in a very worthy 19th hole big man. Rest in peace.
