I first met Neil through football, not Willis. My son, Will, had joined Ipswich Town’s player development program and Neil was one of the coaches. Will was having problems with some of the other boys trying to bully him. Neil took him under his wing and was extremely caring and encouraging. It was because of Neil that Will didn’t give up on football and went on to have several enjoyable (and successful) playing years.
Whilst our paths didn’t cross often at work, Neil was always the same kind and professional person I’d met at football.
Neil, it is obvious you touched many people as you did ours. You are truly special, we will miss and never forget you. Rest well.
