Bernard was a wonderful colleague and friend during my time at Warwick. He was consistently thoughtful, kind and considered. I very much enjoyed our conversations and would often spend time leaning against the always open door of his office discussing healthcare systems or seeking his advice about my research in the NHS. I will fondly remember evenings spent together in Melbourne, sharing good meals and good wine. I am so sorry to his family for their loss.
