Matt was a wonderful colleague, and I’m truly indebted to all the advice, help, and boundless patience he offered over the years–not to mention his capacity to get through herculean volumes of work under great time-pressure, which I think everyone was both in awe of and grateful for. But, in addition to his contribution on the work-side of things, Matt was such a special presence at work and he’ll be remembered as an approachable and kind person to be around, who had a unique way of thinking, and an equally unique sense of humour, and a real gift of the gab, and I will very much miss all the chats we used to have over Teams calls and all the anecdotes he used to share from his practically photographic memory. My thoughts are with his family and his son as they mourn his loss. He’ll be very sorely missed.
