Linda Logan
I met Linda back in the day when Highgate had a courthouse. I believe, we were members of the founding group of MAGIC magistrates in North London who went out to spread the word in local schools about the judicial system. It was always fun hearing the stories of “the uncle who had the tag” and the questions about “will I go to prison if I did such and such”. We bonded over lunches we had as a group and Linda was always full of stories about the expolits of her children, Ali and Georgie and her wonderful husband Charlie and their increasingly dotty old dog. As everyone has said she was a wonderful, warm and approachable person. She gave so much to the magistracy- her time; her humour and her leadership, especially through Covid. I am so glad we did the walk to remember the first woman magistrate in the middle of Covid. She was very proud to be at the front leading us on! See the pictures outside the retiring room.
I last saw Linda in December when we went for lunch. She bore her illness and the associated gruelling treatments with her usual matter of factness. It’s a bugger but I am going to make the most of my time, especially with my grandchildren and the upside is I can eat as much chocolate as I like! I am so very sorry I could not make our next lunch on May 3rd. The funeral was, even on line, a time to say goodbye to a wonderful friend and colleague. RIP dear Linda.
