Celia Palmer

Once in a while someone comes along who makes the world a brighter place. Celia was one of those people.

We met many years ago when our children were young and we were working in Community and Child Health in Essex. Celia encouraged me to go into Occupational Health and we continued to work together in the NHS for a few years. She became my mentor and guide Our professional lives crossed paths again in the Civil Sevice OHD. Many lunch times were shared in the park eating our avocado sandwiches. A drink in the wine bar with other colleagues sometimes followed a busy day.

We shared an interest in music concerts and performances and occasionally frequented the Festival Hall and the Wigmore Hall.

In her last email to me Celia was strong and determined in her journey to the end of the road she was on.

In her typical selfless way she was offering comfort to me and others who were and would continue to mourn.

With fondness and respect to Celia and her family.

Beverley.
