Will Arigato
Dear Will
Will was a person who embodied kindness and always looked around him and encouraged people by talking with them.
He was so sweet that he watched the video of my wedding with his team members. When I was working overtime, he gently told me, “Why are you still here? You’re newlyweds, so you should go home early!”
He also came up with a gift for Temporary staff to congratulate their job offers. I felt it shows Will’s compassion to other people by taking action.
When I stopped by Starbucks on my way to work, and on the way to the escalator to the 7th floor, I sometimes met him parking his bicycle there. It was one of my happy days that I could chit-chat with Will first thing in the morning.
Also, when he came to the back office and we talked for a while, I felt energized (I’m sure many people feel the same way). I thought it was amazing how he often said “Ah so so so (Ah yeah yeah yeah)” naturally in Japanese when nodding in agreement. I was grateful to be able to work with him and feel his kindness, inclusiveness, beauty, and strength.
Also, it was great that my husband could meet and talk with Will at Tokyo Rainbow Pride in 2022. My husband misses him too.
Last but not least, I really wanted Uncle Will to hold my baby girl who was born last year and to have her feel his warm heart.
Will, thank you so much for everything. You’ll be greatly missed, but you are always in our hearts.
I pray that his beloved family and Lolita may find comfort and peace.
