Maria was a special lady and a true inspiration. Maria was the kindest and gentlest person I have ever met. I feel so fortunate to have known her. She was committed to her work and the children and families she cared for and had such a wonderful work ethic that rubbed off on us all….a brilliant mentor. Nothing was ever too much for her and she had a wonderful ability to put you at ease.

I first met her 25 years ago when we worked in The Special Needs Team and then Bexley CCNT and beyond.

I will never forget the support and encouragement she gave me during my nursing career. My thoughts and prayers are with her family that they gain some comfort knowing how well respected and admired Maria was by everyone who knew her.
