I was saddened and extremely shocked to hear of Wayne’s passing, and my thoughts go out to his family, friends, all of the Connolly Scaffolding team and those who worked alongside him at the NASC.

I firstly got to know Wayne through the partnership TRAD and Connolly Scaffolding have built up over the years, and latterly through the NASC and what always struck me was his passion for the industry – for someone who wasn’t scaffolding bred, he lived and breathed it more than most.

Wayne was honest, forthright, passionate and considerate, he had his opinions but yet was willing to listen to others, take on board their thoughts and not afraid to change his own, while always putting forward reasoned and well thought out views of his own.  I always enjoyed our conversations on the industry, he not only listened to what I said but he heard what I meant, that is a subtle but significant thing. 

He was a true gentleman who will be missed by all those that had the privilage to know him, while his passing is a huge loss to the scaffolding community as a whole.  May you rest in peace Wayne, you will be missed.
