James d'Haussonville
James was a colleague who became a deep personal friend. I first met James over 12 years ago when we both worked at Deloitte. During this time James was one of the leaders of our team and both my line manager and career mentor. James always led the team with kindness and compassion while holding himself and our team to high standards. He invested a lot of time with me providing career advice and mentorship that helped me progress and deepened our personal bond. He was also a lot of fun to be around, I remember a night out in Macau that finished with a helicopter ride!
I worked with James after I left Deloitte and hugely valued the support and partnership with him during this period. We had difficult times on an immensely challenging project, but our friendship deepened as a result. I was pleased to see him in London in April this year and was deeply impressed with the grace and dignity with which he faced his circumstances as well as the commitment he had to his family.
James’s career accomplishments were impressive, but I will remember him for his personality. He was funny, loved people, was selfless, determined and kind! I will miss him deeply and am very sorry for his loss, both personally and for all who knew him. My condolences to all who knew him and especially his familly.
