Aalia Mahomed

Dear Aalia,

I’ve recently heard about the news and was truly hurt, enraged, to find out that something like this had happened to a student in my school. I didn’t know you, but I could’ve. I may have seen you on campus, maybe we were even part of the same club. If you can read this, I just want you to know that you’ll always be a part of this school, you’ll reside in our memories and I won’t let people forget you. This could’ve happened to anyone, life is unfair. I just hope that you are in a happy place and that your family has all the support they need and can still feel your love from heaven. I just hope you can rest peacefully now and not have to worry about anything. It feels like I lost a friend, the entire university is grieving the loss of your pure soul. I just hope that nothing like this will ever happen again. For some reason, since the accident, I can’t bring myself to go near there. But now that flowers and a lovely cherry blossom tree have been placed in your name, I think I can finally go back there.

Rest in Peace Aalia.
