I had the pleasure of helping Wayne & Nicola plan and book their holidays. Wayne was an absolute gentleman and I loved helping them organise some incredible trips together. Wayne also endorsed and entrusted Travel Counsellors with the account for NASC. I hope all the special memories made can bring some comfort to Nicola and the family at this sad time.  May he rest in peace……

I was very very saddened to hear about Wayne’s untimely and sudden death. For a while, many years ago, when he was at Beaver Road Primary School  in Didsbury Wayne was a regular visitor to our house as he was good friends with my son Paul and we all had a soft spot for this charming, intelligent and cheeky little lad.I met him a few times more recently and was not at all surprised he had been so successful.   I am getting older now and a lot of people have come and gone but I can honestly say we will never forget Wayne. My most sincere condolences go out to his family in particular and to his colleagues and friends.          …

Connolly Scaffolding Ltd

On the 19th December, Connolly Scaffolding Ltd held our stand down day, the last day before we broke up for Christmas and sadly the last day that we would see Wayne again. The stand down day was a day of celebration, a day for all of our Connolly Scaffolding team members to get together at our new premises in Salford. A few of our team members hadn’t been to the new premises before and wondered what all the fuss was about and did they really need to be there! On walking through the newly refurbished offices, warehouse and yard the look of realisation was clear to see…Wow! Wayne’s vision for the new premises had been realised, he was rightly proud and he posted this drone fly through video a couple of weeks ago https://www.linkedin.com/posts/wayne-connolly-5216a791_ithastobenasc-connollyscaffolding-whodoyoutrust-activity-7404861618427162624-NfAN?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAABOAdCkBRXmaIrLNEkpwlDTFHz1497p_Tes    Wayne loved a presentation as they were an opportunity to celebrate the Company’s successes for 2025 and also an opportunity to recognise and reward team members for their valuble contributions. This years awards were for Health & Safety Champion, Apprentice Of The Year, Players Player and Best Photo At Work. Wayne also spoke about 2026 and how next year was to be Connolly Scaffolding’s biggest year…

I was devastated to hear of Wayne’s passing. A friend for over 50 years, we grew up together from the age of 5 to 16 sharing classrooms, mischief and the kind of childhood bond that never fades. On leaving school we went in different directions, re connecting a number of years later. By then Wayne had built a successful chain of car garages, Connolly Motors. It was 2002 and Wayne founded Connolly Scaffolding Ltd which ran out of a yard behind his garage in Stockport. Always celebrate your friends successes, I made sure Wayne knew I was proud of what he had achieved. Over the next 20 years we regularly met up for drinks or food at one of Wayne’s favourite restaurants. In 2023 Wayne asked me if I’d be interested in working at Connolly Scaffolding as Business Development and Marketing Manager, he spoke with such passion about the business and his vision for the future, it was an easy yes. What Wayne has created at Connolly Scaffolding is amazing, the culture, the investment in people, the innovation, a Company that people wanted to work for as it felt like family. Wayne cared…when team members were at their lowest…
