In Memory of

Tracey Reeves

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tracey Reeves, a valued and respected member of staff at Carnforth High School for more than 20 years. She was a loving, caring wife to Andrew and devoted mother to Michael.

Tracey was a passionate Manchester United fan and proud of her Mancunian roots. She put others first and always wanted the very best for the students she worked with. Tracey was a special person, one who we will all remember.

Not many people leave a true legacy but Tracey has left a legacy at Carnforth High School.  The countless pupils, families and staff she helped are a testament to what a truly special person she was. All our lives have become a little bit dimmer following Tracey’s passing.  However I also know that Tracey has left me and others with the skills she passed on us; to persevere when challenges appear, approach the world with kindness and compassion and enjoy as many moments in the day as possible. Especially with your loved ones and friends.  Tracey supported me when I first joined Carnforth, worked with me as years went on, tolerated me when I tried to lead (I mean who could tell Tracey what to do) and encouraged me when I made the decision to move on to new opportunities.  Tracey was there for everyone she met and I will miss that most of all. …

As a waterpolo coach at LCSW, Tracey gave my child a great rule for life: “Throw, don’t plop”. We will keep that in our minds.  …

Like so many people I am finding it very hard to comprehend the news and process the information. I cannot believe you will not spring into the office with your smile and positive energy each morning, catch up on the lastest events or just gossip about nothing inparticular. Your energy and zest for life was formidable, you were there for everybody and had wise words for every situation. I will miss your ability to find a silver lining in every dark cloud, the scent in your office, smile in the morning, pink tutu moments and most of all your unconditional positive regard for students, parents and staff. We will love and nurture Michael in school, he has our unconditional support and we will ensure he ‘flies high’, just as you wanted. No doubt he will keep me updated on the latest planes he has spotted! I will miss you deeply, the school will miss you, you will be forever in our hearts. …

I was deeply saddened to hear of Tracey’s untimely passing and my thoughts are with her family, friends and the Carnforth High School staff and students, past and present. I had the privilege of working with Tracey and always had total respect for her. She was deeply committed to all the students, tireless in the help she gave them and yet there was always a place for laughter in the Pastoral Office. Tracey had the knack of taking you to a happier place – some shared memory of a school trip to Brittany or Germany or just a knowing smile. Thank you Tracey. You have made the world a better place….

Although I only worked with Tracey for two years, she was a constant source of joy and positivity. Her smile was contagious, and she was a lovely person to be around. She wasn’t just a colleague but a truly amazing person who left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Sending lots of love and heartfelt condolences to her family. Rest in peace, Tracey; you will be deeply missed….

Like so many people, I have really struggled with words to express my feelings on hearing the sad news of Tracey’s passing. I was privileged to have worked with her for 6 years at Carnforth High School. She was the most caring, compassionate, efficient & professional lady I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Tracey was also my daughter’s Head of Year for 3 years and huge part of the amazing pastoral team. Providing advice, support, a shoulder to cry on, the list goes on, for all students, was much more than a job to Tracey. It was more a way of life. The lives of countless students have been enriched by her presence. She will be sadly missed. My sincere condolences go to Andrew and Michael and all her family and friends💜…

CHS will be different without Mrs Reeves. She truly had the heart of angel. She loved everyone no matter who they were. She was kind, loving, loyal, an amazing role model and fantastic head of year to me and the rest of year 10. She sprinkled happiness wherever she went. Throughout my time at CHS, she has helped me so much with my anxiety and when I’ve had my wobbles. (My mother passed before I came to CHS) She picked me up when I needed it, talked to me if I wanted it and always was there to fall back on. Mrs Reeves helped calm me down and helped me get my feelings out. She knew exactly what to say, how to act and she truly was a blessing to have in our lives. I give my condolence to Michael and her husband. I will miss you forever Mrs Reeves. ❤️…

Tracey, I am grateful to have to worked with you for nearly ten years. Your caring and lovable nature supported everyone. Seeing your smile in the corridor always brightened my day. You will be greatly missed, but your memories will never be forgotten. I will continue painting the forest mural with you in my heart. It was a pleasure to have known you. Thank you. x   My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Andrew and Michael during this sad time. X  …

I’ve tried to figure out the right words to put, but I really don’t think there is such a thing as the correct words when it comes to you Trace, there’s just an abundance of positive memories and laughs that come to my mind. You were a colleague, a supporter, and most importantly, such a special friend. I really hope that you realised how loved you are, both in and out of work. You knew the answer to every single question, you knew just how to make anyone feel better and you were always there with open arms saying “come for a Trace cuddle.” You were so strong, and absolutely lived life to the fullest- we are all going to miss you oh so much.  Michael; there was not a day that went by without your Mum mentioning you with such a big smile on her face. She was so, so proud of you every single day, and spoke so positively about your trips away, water polo and the sports you were involved in. You are an amazing young man and I have no doubt that you will continue to make her proud, she will always be with you. Andrew-…

As a family we were extremely saddened to hear or the passing of Tracey Reeves. Tracey was a teacher to 3 of my younger siblings and more recently 2 of my children. The support Mrs Reeves has given the children throughout the years has been second to non. I don’t know what we would have done without her support as a family in the recent years either. Tracey has always been so kind, caring and understanding. She is an amazing woman. It is a great loss to the school as well as all her family and friends. She will be missed by so many but she will not be forgotten.  I am so sorry to the family, especially her son. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers….

Deeply saddened to hear of Mrs Reeves passing. An absolute diamond and a credit to the school. As for many students, she was a driving force and made a lot of our days in school much more bareable. A force of nature and a warm smile, beautiful soul that will be dearly missed. Thinking of her family at this time 🤍 Rest In Peace xx…

I will remember Tracey as a colleague and friend to my husband, a magnificent support to both our children and their peers but even more as a force of nature with the most welcoming personality with such a beautiful smile whenever we met. Tracey was CHS……caring, compassionate and just the most amazing human being. There will be a massive hole left in her passing for past, current and future generations at the school. My thoughts are of course with Michael and Andrew but also Tracey’s colleagues past and present plus the hundreds of students she touched the lives of in such a positive way. In our hearts and minds forever Tracey xxxx  …
