Book of Memories of

Suzanne Williams

Suzanne worked for BlueLight Commercial for over four years and was warmly loved by all her colleagues. The deep feelings of grief felt by her colleagues are a mark of the impact she had on the people around her and the degree to which she was held in high regard. Words will never truely represent our feelings for Suzanne but this book is an opportunity for colleagues to share memories of Suzanne with her family and friends and show our respect for a truely lovely lady.

Suzanne was one of the first people I met face to face when I joined BlueLight Commercial, when I was invited along to an informal Norfolk meet-up (coming from ‘just down the road’ in Suffolk). Her warmth and genuine friendship shone through and I have really enjoyed our conversations over the past few years – ranging from the serious to the inane, sometimes both in the space of five minutes! Suzanne was incredibly thoughtful and often just popped up to suggest a new café in my nearest town, or give a book recommendation, little things which meant a lot and it is those simple, every day, treasured moments I’ll miss more than I can say. She will be terribly missed at BlueLight Commercial as a colleague and friend to so many. My thoughts and condolences are with Suzanne’s loved ones….

Suzanne was my manager for the last 3 years, but she was so much more than that, a true friend and an amazing human being. She always had time for others, a positive outlook and a fantastic sense of humour. My very last conversation with Suzanne sums up exactly who she was and how I’ll always remember her. At the end of a busy week for both of us, instead of just logging off, she took the trouble to call me up just to simply say thank you for a tiny piece of work I had done for her. People really mattered to Suzanne. We then carried on chatting about travel plans and future aspirations as we often did. Absolutely devasted she won’t get to realise them. My deepest condolences to Suzannes family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her….

I am so very sorry for the loss of Suzanne! Suzanne was a lovely Lady who was always happy and smiling. Suzanne always had time to talk to me at our Annual Planning Events and on Teams Calls. Conversation always started by Suzanne asking “How you doing” followed by chat about recent or planned holidays either of us had been on. My first Teams message received from Suzanne was her congratulating me on my promotion which showed her support to other people’s achievements and successes. Suzanne went above and beyond for people to help them where she could. I feel very privileged to have known and worked with Suzanne for the last four years. My heart goes out to Suzanne’s husband and family at this incredibly sad time. Suzanne will be missed terribly by all of us….

I met Suzanne before she joined BlueLight Commercial when she attended our Annual Planning Event prior to her actual start date, I was fortunate enough to sit beside her at the formal evening dinner.  She was engaging and interesting to talk to and was genuinely interested in my DIY exploits.  When the following year, and subsequent years I was unable to attend due to personal circumstances she was always there, saying hello via the camera, making sure I felt included even though I was attending virtually.  My heartfelt condolences go to her family and friends for a particularly considerate and compassionate soul taken from us far too soon. Sleep peacefully Suzanne….

I am so grateful that Suzanne was part of the fabric of BLC. Suzanne was a kind, gentle and caring individual who was a ray of sunshine in the world of Bluelight Commercial. She’d never say no to anybody and always helped and supported staff. I remember when I first started at BLC and she was there to help support and guide me where we had some commonality from our Central Government days. I cannot comprehend the hole that she leaves both at home and at work. She was a shining star and she will be sorely missed. My sympathies to all her family and please be assured she was loved and adored within BLC too and will be deeply missed by us all….

I was deeply saddened to hear the news. When I joined BLC, Suzanne was allocated as my “buddy” and was one of the first people I met virtually. From the start, she was kind, welcoming and generous with her time, (in the colder days often wearing her oodie to keep warm). I fondly remember our conversations about travel, her favourite being a small island resort off Zanzibar, as well as our shared love of animals. We always ensured we had time to catch up over a glass of wine or two at our annual events. Suzanne’s warmth and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on me, and i feel very fortunate to have known her. My sincere condolences to Suzanne’s family and loved ones during this difficult time….

I first met Suzanne in my previous role/business.  We met regularly with the objective of discussing Frameworks and Construction, but often wandered off subject.  I have seen a theme emerge through these messages so you won’t be surprised to hear there was lots of talk about holidays.  When I joined BLC, it was Suzanne who jumped onto Teams first to welcome me within seconds of my Laptop springing into life.  Always friendly, reassuring and so generous with her time and knowledge, Suzanne will be much missed by so many and forever remembered with great affection.  I was once told that grief is like the ocean, it comes in waves, sometimes the ebb and flow is calm and sometimes it is overwhelming, all we can do is learn to swim.  My heart goes out to Suzanne’s husband and family at this increbibly diffecult time. …

Suzanne was one of the very first people I met before I even started at the company, and from that moment her warmth and kindness made a lasting impression.  She was enthusiastic with a welcoming smile and a laugh which was never far away.  She would pop up (or around a shoulder) in conversations or meetings with interesting stories, a sunny smile, never failing to raise spirits or lighten the mood.   Suzanne was one of the people that you could just call whenever and wherever, it was as if you’d known her forever.  She was light and bright and full of fun.  It was an honour to know her and I am truly sorry for your loss. …

Jamie Anderson wrote “Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.” Suzanne, you welcoming and vivacious personality will be so missed, and my thoughts are with her family at this very sad time. …

I feel very lucky to have worked with Suzanne over the last 4 years. Her enthusiasm was contagious, she was always laughing and causing mischief. We enjoyed many laughs at work events. A particular highlight was us all competing to build the biggest tower out of sticks and cardboard which culminated in Suzanne hanging off the balcony at the top of the stairs in a clear breach of health & safety – much to our amusement.  After one event she supplied some special caymen island rum, another source of amusement.  We shared a love of travel and I knew if I needed any tips or an itinerary building I had my very own personal travel agent right at work.  We spent many an hour chatting about destinations, hotels and sharing stories.  She was kind and thoughtful, always the first to congratulate people on their successes.  A really popular member of the team.   It was clear to us all she cherished her family & friends, please know how much she was loved at work and how many happy memories we have of her. She will be remembered with affection and missed terribly by us all….

I’m very sorry for the loss of Suzanne. She was a truly lovely woman who always found time to help colleagues, which made a real difference to all of us at BlueLight Commercial. She will be missed by us all and my thoughts go to her family and friends during this difficult time….

I have worked with Suzanne at BLC for over 2 years. I met Suzanne at my 1st BLC annual planning event just prior to starting at BLC. I was nervous starting at a new organisation and attending an event where most people already knew each other. Suzanne was lovely, she made me feel welcome and part of BLC. In the evening when the team was socialising she made a real effort to talk to me and we had a lovely long animated chat about how we were going to improve strategic supplier relationship management. She was passionate about her role. She was a friendly approachable person who was always happy to help. I will miss her. My thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time….

My deepest condolences to Suzanne’s husband, family and all her friends at this incredibly difficult time. I remember meeting Suzanne at my first BlueLight Commercial annual planning event in 2022.  Suzanne was one of the first people I met and I found her to be both welcoming and helpful, a way of working which continued in all that we did. Her laughter and humour were infectious and Suzanne will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her….
