In Loving Memory of

Sarah Lambert

* 23rd March 2022 *

As our Compliance & Assurance Manager, Sarah was a much-loved colleague and friend at Lowell Solicitors and Overdales Legal, where she had worked since 2016.  This Memorial Book was opened to allow colleagues to express our grief at losing Sarah so unexpectedly but also to share the many happy times, fond memories and privilege of knowing her.  Sarah was universally well liked and was respected by all, she was kind, witty and a joy to know. We will miss her and we won’t forget.

Our heart-felt condolences go to Sarah’s family and friends, who are invited to share their thoughts and memories here too, to create a trove of treasured memories for all who loved her to cherish and draw strength from.

I cannot believe our beautiful Sarah as been taken away from us, we are still in shock, our bright and shining star as gained her angel wings. the day you came in to our lives we remember as if it was yesterday a new baby girl called Sarah Lambert you melted our hearts straight away and as you became a few year older you loved to dance and run around with so much happiness my Auntie Dot and Uncle Joe just gleemed with joy they were so proud of you. as we all grew older and more closer as a family, there was never a weekend we were not together, all setting off in all 100 cars lol cause we are a big family, we all spent every minute laughing and having fun as kids.heres just a few to names of places we went  (Bolton Abbey, Shipley Glen, Ibiza,Otley hahahaha) so many more. Every new years eve was spent at your mum n dads house,bringing the new year in (you absolutley loved that).we would party till the early hours (great times Sarah). these are just a tiny tiny part of our lives with you,our hearts have been shattered into…

In my early days starting at Lowell (over 5 years ago) we were more or less sat together at the top of Darwin, you, me and Jenine in no man’s land, not really knowing what we were doing! We got on straight away and I could tell you were a great person from the offset. The first thing that comes to mind about all this is that you would 100% hate all this attention even now! You certainly weren’t the ‘I’m here’ type of person like me! We were very different in many ways, but I loved the bones of you Sarah. At times you had me in stitches due to your dry, witty personality, you just had the gift of making people smile. When you got Winnie, your horse dog (as you called her) you were so happy but this turned into a bit of a disaster as she didn’t respect or listen to you and basically did whatever she wanted, we both had a huge love for dogs and even more so when you called yours Winnie as that was my grans name. I’ve just been reading back on some of our Facebook messages and I’m actually…

Beyond heartbroken at the loss of my lovely friend Sarah who I have had the pleasure of knowing all my life. I have fond memories of going on cinema trips almost every weekend during my teens and her teaching me how to play the sims and pool when we were younger. I think she was the person who taught me how to do prank calls 😂 As we grew older of course we didn’t see each other as much but she was always a true friend who I could count on and it’s so painful to know she’s no longer here. I’m gutted that she will never meet my daughter who is due to arrive tomorrow. This is a horrific loss and my love goes out to all the Lambert family…

Like everyone else, I hardly know where to start to write this and still can’t believe that I even need to do it.  I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Sarah since I joined LSL in 2018 to lead the Compliance Team and it has been a real pleasure. Sarah was knowledgeable, practical, full of common sense and her no-nonsense approach to Compliance was appreciated by everyone across the business.  She was always hard-working, going the extra mile and taking on responsibility to see a task or project through but always in a positive and easy-going way.  Sarah’s skills made her an ideal candidate for promotion to role of Compliance & Assurance Manager in 2019, since when she has built a great team. Having to tell Sarah’s team about her passing was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do but they have pulled together and supported each other through this tough time and I know Sarah would be very proud of them. I really appreciate the support Sarah always gave me as COLP and I always knew that she was a safe pair of hands for any piece of work. She was a great asset to…

I don’t really know where to start, gutted, upset, emotional, and still can’t believe you have left us and passed.  I connected with Sarah more or less as soon as I got to know her.  We had some similarities when it came to our management styles, good humoured, direct, and always happy to challenge when you felt strongly about something. A stright talking indivudual who was logical, highly intelligent and knew her stuff! We have worked on 100’s of initiatives since you started with LSL, too many to share, but what always stood out for me was your amazing work ethic, loyality, sense of humour, and most of all your humble, modest nature.  I don’t think you ever really got what an amazing role model you were,  nothing was every too much trouble, you worked incredibily hard, long hours, and were always spinning numerous plates! to try and support everyone. My more recent memories of Sarah were working on our future ways of working project only last year,  we had some right giggles and of course always felt we had the answers of how the project should be run lol.  Sarah had an an amazing sense of humour and…

I met you on one of your very first days with Lowell Solicitors Sarah, and was asked to give you an overview of the Quality team. You sat between me & Yvette (who I will forever think of as Fatima!!) while I yapped on & on, & I remember by the time you got up to go you said you wanted to stay & work with us on our team – not your actual new role! You were full of fun, and I will fondly remember the Murder Mystery zoom night in lockdown with the rest of your team. You really will be missed by everyone Sarah, but I’m so glad I got to know you…Louise XX…

Well Sarah, where do I start. Writing this is probably one of the hardest things I have had to do. I have so many memories, which I will cherish forever, that it is hard to even think of them all. We started working together when we were about 18 as office juniors and it was such a fun time. We became close friends from the start and there was also another Sarah so from then on it was all about the adventures, or maybe mischief, that the three Sarah’s could get involved in! I remember all the nights out at Queens Hall, the cheesy dance we had to do to I think we’re Alone Now by Tiffany, then often going back to yours for Capones to finish the night. It was like a big family and it was just the norm for everyone to be in the pub at lunch together, usually city vaults, and then probably again after work! We were there for each other when it was time to take our driving tests. I remember failing the first time and you were waiting for me in town and to cheer me up and when I passed of…

One of my earliest memories of working with Sarah was when she co-interviewed me for my current role within the Compliance team, and I’ll always appreciate the opportunity she gave me and all of the support she provided in the years afterwards. It’s still very recent since we lost her, but I think above all I’ll remember Sarah for always being friendly to me and everyone else, and having a great sense of humour and wit, and just being excellent at her job. We also shared an affinity for The X-Files being one of our favourite TV shows, which I’ll always remember. Sarah, you will be greatly missed! x…

Well where do I begin with this……..so many funny times had over the past couple of years I won’t have time/space to list them all.  There are not many people in this world that got me Sarah but you really did, you got me 100%.  Never did I feel I was being judged at any time and you seemed to have a nack of just knowing when things weren’t quite right and I have no idea how you knew.  Anyway, on to the stuff that proper made me laugh the most…….bearing in mind we were poles apart, me the most sporty competitive person and you totally not……you told me you had a table tennis table set up and even sent me the most amazing picture of it saying it was a xmas present from your parents to your neice and nephew and adding that you and your brother also had one as kids growing up (I should have known at this point the story was made up).  But Yvette went along with it all and even asked Sarah to set up a tournament in there.  You never did actually say the whole thing was made up, you just let…

You and I were very similar in that we both found sharing our feelings awkward, so I will start with a few funny memories to get started. One of my favourite moments was when we were working in the office and you, me and Michelle were having a chat. Michelle’s knee cracked and you recoiled in such horror at the noise, you nearly fell off your chair. Me and Michelle could not stop laughing at how overly dramatic your reaction was, we had tears in our eyes! Another great memory is when you told me you liked to give people a country and western nickname. I once came into work with eyelash extensions on and that was the day mine was created. Going back to us both being awkward, you once came round to my house to drop a wedding present off from you and the team and we didn’t know what to do. We just stood there for what seemed like forever just smiling awkwardly. We were both asking are you ok? Yeah are you? Yeah, good thanks are you?. Think we both needed to work on our small talk haha. There are so many more that I…
