Rest in peace Our True Hero Late Mr. Peter Mount CBE. Peter was Chairman of Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 2001 to 2014 and Chairman of Salford Royal Hospital from 1993 to 2001. Peter was highly regarded by anyone who worked with him. His passion lead and contributed to ground-breaking changes in the Health care system even after his retirement. Peter was able to see humanity beyond colour, creed, religion etc. He was a national advocate for refugee doctors joining the NHS and played a vital role in implementing the recent change by the NMC on supporting Internationally Educated Nurses to complete their UK Nursing registration. Peter also founded Helping Uganda Schools (HUGS), and the charity is running six schools, which enabled to change lives of thousands of children. Peter held hands of many people and provided each of us with hope and empowered us to dream big and aim high. Peter provided strong leadership skills and knowledge, in the tough times and taught many to be strong and caring humans. Peter, you will always have a special place in everyone’s heart who knows you. “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day….unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved still missed, and very dear.” Despite of the busy life schedules, Peter always found time to reflect on his faith too, we are sure you are resting with angels. Rest well Peter, we miss you here. “Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death” (Isaiah 57:2).
