I didn’t have the pleasure of working with you for long as a link Governor but I very much enjoyed our discussions and our shared sense of humour. I want to pay tribute to your passion for helping your learners to achieve, your professionalism and to your obvious support for your team members. I know that you will be sadly missed but have every confidence that you will have inspired your team to carry on your good work.  I speak for all the Governors in expressing my sympathy to your family, friends and colleagues. Your ‘critical friend’ Sue…

Dear Paul, Where do I start? I guess the best place is Thankyou! Without you I have no doubt that I would not be in the position I am now or the person I am today. You personally helped me through some very tough times and also gave me the real honest truth when I definitely needed it! You were so passionate and dedicated to our learners and it was at the forefront of everything you did, you made sure that the whole team followed that ethos. We will continue to do that for you! You will not and can not be forgotten, I for sure will never forget your unique laugh that could lighten up the hardest situations. You were always the first good morning and the last good night of any working day and have left a legacy and a hole that cannot be filled. I will strive to continue your work and ensure that our learners get the best opportunities in life, just like you have given to me and many others. Thankyou Paul, Sleep tight. Nicola xx…

Paul when I think of you I just smile and recall just how much I laughed when we worked on something together. Without fail, you brought out the child in me and I thank you for that. You were my ‘go to’ Head and you will never know just how much you supported me. College will never be the same, but we will continue to move forward on the journey we shared. Rest in peace, with my love x…

Thank you, Paul, for giving me my first proper teaching job. Thank you for your guidance and for helping me to get set up with the career I’ve always wanted and will stick with from here on. Thank you for pushing me to be successful in this role. Thank you for putting me at ease when I felt uneasy and for the times you had my back when I needed you to. I can’t help but feel that I owe you a lot and I am thankful for all the things you did for me in our time working together….

You were one of my ‘go to’ people.  One that always answered the phone.  One that always helped out.  One that always smiled.  One that knew how to make the students and staff feel everything was going to be ok.  Guessing that’s why you were chosen to be one of the best angels ever.  …

I’m not really too sure what to say, Paul was a good friend as well as a colleague, he made me laugh and always knew when I needed cheering up or a good talking to. He was absolutely passionate about the college and the learners and that was always at the core of what he did, even if that meant sometimes he was utterly infuriating as well but his heart was always in the right place. I am so lucky to have so many wonderfully funny memories we have shared, the endless fish finger sandwiches and Belgian buns we’ve eaten together whilst putting the world to rights. I’ll never forget your laugh, your celebratory dance and of course the waistcoat. I miss sharing the stories whether good or bad and the juiciest of gossip, there is no one that can replace that.  The funny messages you’d send that got many people in a little trouble too. And how we always felt like we were in some awful movie like The Truman Show when dealing some of the most bizarre events and fighting fires! I will always remember you whilst guessing on the masked singer and try to be the…

Paul, you brightened the day of everyone you came in contact with, always happy, always a smile on your face, often a mischieveous twinkle in your eyes and so full of energy.  We had many laughs, some at the expense of others, but always good humoured. You were always willing to help anyone and went above and beyond. We will miss you as a friend and as a colleague and our thoughts are with your husband and your family – may they take solace in the knowledge how highly you were thought of and that their grief is shared by so many….
