In Memory of

Hayley Scrase

It is with deep regret that we recently learned about the sudden passing of Hayley Scrase, the loving mother of two wonderful children and the wife of our dearest UNHCR colleague, Edgar Scrase.

We are setting up this online condolence book for everyone to share condolences and sympathy with Ed and his family. The online book will be printed and given to Ed later.

Please also be aware that we have set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to provide financial support to Ed in this difficult time. You can access the fund through this link

Our deepest condolences goes to the entire family in this time of sorrow.

Ed: Sincere condolences to you and your family and praying for your courage and strength during this very difficult time….

Rachelle

Dear Ed, I am so sorry for your loss. My heartfelt condolences to you, the kids, parents, friends, and everyone who loved her. I did not get the chance to meet Hayley when they visited last summer. I have no doubt, however, that she must have been very special to be the person you chose. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time of sorrow. Sending lots of love, Rachelle…

Ed, there are really no words. I am sending you and the kids all my love and strength during this time. Not knowing any words that may help, I wanted to share my last memory of Hayley. We sat at a café in Amman and chatted about life, the kids, work and she seemed truly happy. Happy to have found a balance with work and the kids, enjoying being at home (encouraging me to make the move), having found a nice group of friends but also planning some awesome trips to visit friends around the world (she was truly loved and admired by so many people across the world). It is a bittersweet memory. What a legend she was. Any time you want, I will be happy to reinforce this to Naomi and Zach – to remind them how strong she was, funny, intelligent, a take no bullshit kind of person and just how much she loved them (and you). Anything that you need, we are here….
