Dear Colette. I’m so very sorry for your passing. You’ve been a fab and unique friend the last few years. You made the quiz nights such fun. To quote T.S Elliot  ‘But what have I, my friend, to give you, what can you receive from me? Only the friendship and the sympathy’. Condolences to all family and friends. x   …

Colette I will miss you so very much.  I remember first meeting you at your interview and within a matter of minutes knowing we wanted you on our team.  You had the knowledge but most importantly you had such a presence of character and the ability to really talk and get to know us and take a real interest.  This was you throughout, you affected so many colleagues (then friends) so positively with your bubbly outlook on life and zest for wanting to help others.  I will miss our desk banter, our work chats and our long walks home after another L&G nightout on the town, such fond memories that I will forever hold close to my heart. Love always Ian xxx…

Colette, If people could be polarised into either radiators or drains, you would be the absolute epitome of a radiator. Whilst I perhaps didn’t know you as well as some, during the time I did spend with you at work functions and sat next to you at Hove, you brightened up my day, adding a little fun and made me laugh. We would discuss anything, comparisons of our diet, my poor sense of fashion, music, we even discussed work issues occassionally! This news has really saddened me and you will be sorely missed. Like many, I’m struggling to process your passing, it just doesn’t seem possible and certainly not fair.  The world was a brighter, happier place with you in it.  If we do go off to a better place, I can guarantee that they’ve saved a space for you in the front row….

Dearest Colette In the relatively short time I knew you I got to regard you as a great friend, a ray of sunshine, a source of inspiration and a symbol of everything good in this world. I admired and respected you for your professionalism, humour and ability to gel with all those around you but most of all your genuine concern for others – myself included. I am still struggling to come to terms with your passing having read the news several times before I could even begin to accept / acknowledge the loss of such a special individual and dear friend. Our little community of workers won’t be the same without you and I for one feel a part of my heart has died with you. Know that you were loved by so many and that you will live on in our hearts and minds. Until we next meet (which in my case may be sooner than most!). Love and hugs Bruce xxx…

Colette, the bravest, strongest, friendliest, happiest, fun person I had the honour and pleasure to spend time with. She regularly suffered with pain and emormous personal stress and challenges in her life but that did not stop her putting a smile on her face and being happy to hear and enjoy everyone’s news, always with support and a shoulder if they had struggles. Always up for anything and willing to support every good cause (and I do mean every). I remember a flyer in the staff canteen looking for volunteers, which in Colette style was all guns blazing and trying to recruit me as well. I reminded Colette of what she already had on, and her face dropped with the realisation that she couldn’t do this but a split second later “I can take it and show it to people, as they may not have seen this flyer”. Off she went with a smile and a spring in her step, as she had great joy in speaking to everyone she passed. I will cherish what we did and will remember the joy and laughter you brought to any occassion. May you rest in peace as you leave us with…
