In Loving Memory of
Anna Phillips
Anna was so much more to us than a dear friend — she was family.
From the time she and John became our neighbours, Anna became such a special part of our lives, and that never changed.
She was kindness in its purest form, with a warmth and joy that made people feel at ease the moment they were with her. There was something so comforting about Anna — her presence, her smile, the way she listened, and the way she always made room for others in her life and in her heart.
We will always remember her love of reading, gardening, travelling, and learning. She had a deep curiosity about the world and a genuine love for truth, and those things were such a beautiful part of who she was. We loved listening to her stories of travelling and teaching, told with such clarity and life. Her mind was wonderfully sharp, and her memories were full of rich experiences that she shared so generously with us.
We can still picture her lovely smile and hear her laughter so clearly. It filled her home, and ours too, and brought with it a sense of joy that made ordinary moments feel special.
Even during the hardest times in her health, Anna had an amazing way of lifting the mood with just a smile and, of course, a cup of her famous hot water. That was Anna — always giving comfort, always bringing light, even when she herself was carrying so much.
Her home was always open to us. It was a welcoming, peaceful place, and over the years it became a kind of sanctuary for our little circle of friends. So many conversations, meals, and memories were shared there. We also loved spending time with her over meals, whether in her home, ours, or out together. She was never fussy, though we knew she had a real fondness for Indian food.
Anna taught us so much about friendship — not through grand words, but through the way she lived. She showed us how much happiness can be found in simple things, and how important it is to keep our hearts open to new friendships and to one another.
As we say goodbye to Anna, our hearts are full of sadness, but also deep gratitude. How lucky we were to know her, to love her, and to be loved by her in return.
Thank you, Anna, for your friendship, your warmth, your wisdom, and your beautiful spirit.
You will always be part of our lives, part of our memories, and part of our hearts.
We love you, Anna — now and always.
