In Memory of

Adam Kerrison

Adam joined the CPS as an administrative assistant in the Magistrates Court team based in Haldin House, Norwich on 5 November 2001.

Over his twenty years of service he worked on variety of different teams including Crown Court and Charging gaining extensive knowledge and experience along the way.

In March 2020 he fulfilled his career goal of becoming the Casework Administration Manager within the area’s Magistrates Court Team.

Adam will be remembered as a particularly caring manager who provided huge support for his team; especially as we adjusted to the changes to our way of working last year.

Adam would always be willing to pick up the many work challenges which came his way and he just seemed to ‘get things done’.   He deputised for the District Business Manager on several occasions and took on the role with his usual efficient and enthusiastic manner and really enjoyed the experience.  Adam was always the same – always on a level with a dry sense of humour – he was liked and respected by many and will be missed by us all.  Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Dear Jo and Hollie, I have worked with Adam for a number of years whilst he has done his different roles. I often met you Hollie when you came into the office and sat in the kitchen (we never heard a peep out of you). I could see the relationship you had with your dad was a lovely one so I am so terribly sad to hear of your loss. Jo I enjoyed speaking to Adam about your work at the theatre and what was coming on next. Adam was a lovely colleague and ‘always’ helped me out with a query none of us could quite get our heads around. Myself and all at CPS will miss him, he would quietly get on and was a hard worker. His determination to fight and his positive approach to his treatment is a credit to him. Please accept my sincere condolences at this very difficult time….

Adam was always really approachable and easy to talk to and ask questions when learning new tasks. I found his approach to training and learning to be really positive and this helped me a lot and I was very grateful for this and know it assisted many other members of the team. The fact he was a fan of the Muppets was really cool and I was impressed with his enthusiasm for them with his impressive tattoos. I was deeply saddened to hear the news and my thoughts are with his family and friends. Warm regards, Darren Wooding….

I remember the POD days with Adam many years ago. He was always calm, never got flustered and was always willing to help.  I also remember him driving me to Great Yarmouth for a day of charging at the police station. His love of Johnny Cash & Waylon Jennings was evident from his car stereo. Adam will be greatly missed by me, never forgotten and may in rest in peace. Luv Ash….

Dear Jo, I first met Adam 3 years ago when I became the second charging manager for east of England alongside him.  Adam always had a positive and cheery demeanour and was great to work with and was really supportive whilst I learnt the role.  Adam was very supportive of the team even after he changed roles and I’ll miss his sense of humour.  I can’t imagine how you must be feeling, and my thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. Adam, a very  special name, for a kind loving man, who had fun in his heart, your family memories that will never die, as they will live on, in each  and everyone of you, so that you are never apart. Adam your name means “Son of the red earth”, so wherever you look from the skies, sea and ground Adam will always be all around….

I worked with Adam since the day I joined CPS.  I soon realised that he was the person everyone went to if you wanted to know anything, he knew more about case preparation than any of the lawyers.  He was so efficient, and it always amazed me how he would get through his workload in no time at all.  He was also limitlessly generous with his time to help colleagues.  If you went to him with a problem he would either know how you could fix it or, more often, would offer to sort it out for you.  For many years he also acted as unofficial quizmaster for the team, providing us with a quiz to entertain us every Friday afternoon.  Those Friday afternoons are some of my favourite and warmest memories at CPS.  Thank you Adam. Adam wasn’t someone who gave much away, but he did often talk with huge warmth and love about his wife Jo and his daughter Holly, and it was clear to me, and anyone who worked with him, that they were his world. He will be greatly missed. Nick Bendy…
