My first encounter was the Barlow 5-a-side compertition whcih after playing against him; Manchester vs Cumbernauld B he was never in the A team as he used to say Ian Mills would’nt pick him because he was always betting booked and sent off!!! wehen i first played against him, i asked him why he was kickcikng my shin instedad of the ball? He replied because i can’t catch you…! after that we propped the bar up laughing and joking about football. Over the last 20+ years we have meet along the way and discussed those football years..What a great man, my dear colleauge, rest in peace!!
