Marcus Jones

I went to first & middle school with Paul from the age of 4-5 onwards.

We were in the same class, played for the school football team together every year and for the same Saturday/Sunday club team from 11 – 15/16. He had skill, I had brute force but we both had a massive will to win!

We went to different high schools but we roller skated together through our teenage years (that was the only thing I was better than him at lol) we hung out and grew up together.

At 17 we fixed up and tinkered with our first ‘boy racer’ XR2 – cars together (we both had one – his was red mine black) and escorts mk2’s – his a real RS Turbo, mine a fake XR3i look-a-like. I had the best time growing up with Paul and around the Whitehead family. Those were really formative years and definitely helped me be the man I am today.
I am gutted we lost contact as he moved and settled in the midlands and I started my career and traveled a lot, but I understand and could see that he was destined to continue the amazing trajectory he was on and start his beautiful family with Jenny.

I have such fond memories of our friendship, his support and positive influence on my career and life aspirations. He was always a great freind. Thank you Paul for being a great mate. You will be truly missed.

Two things I have to say is, to the Whitehead family; if there is anything I can do now or in the future to support you in anyway way please let me know and two; we must all remember to reach out to friends, family and loved ones no matter how long has passed to say ‘hi’ ‘how are you doing’ etc and keep that connection, as we always ‘think we have time’. Life does get in the way for all of us but we have to make the time and let loved ones know.

Rest in peace Paul – nough love buddy 🙏🏽👊🏽💯
