I met Laura McFarlane through the LEAP, where I was given an opportunity to deliver innovative training on domestic abuse to Early Years services. I will always treasure the two years of working with passionate and inspirational people, with Laura being one of the greatest. I was inspired by Laura’s warmth, knowledge and understanding of the families and communities and their needs. Her determination helped us evidence the need for prevention and early intervention in this area, to support system changes and create brighter future for youngest residents and families in need, in Lambeth. Her encouragement and support contributed to findings that will be applied in practice and research that will support the development of educational programmes and new approaches to help prevent domestic abuse. Laura has left a lasting legacy and impact personally and professionally and will be greatly missed. Condolences to her family and support network.
