You have been the best friend I only met once.
Hearing you on Meeples and Miniatures, you have been such a calm and re-assuring presence; costing me loads of money on figures and games I didn’t know I needed, but with that smile in your voice that meant I went willingly to “the shaky shelves”.
When I did reach out to you; I got the kindest response to questions and a wonderful invitation to meet with you and your wargaming circle for one of the best wargaming days; even managing to fix my bomber to destroy that airfield.
Everything we thought of you as we heard you on a podcast or read from your blogs and messages was true, you were a kind and generous man;a massive loss to all who knew you in any large or small way and to wargaming in general.
I cannot image how Mandy and your family are coping at this time and my heart reaches out to them.
In time, I hope their wonderful memories of you will shine light through the darkness and carry them forward for the future.
Rest well Mike, your laugh will always be in my mind whenever I walk into a Wargames Store; just to browse.
