It was with immense shock and sadness that I heard of Simon’s passing. Having known Simon for over 10 years I appreciated his enthusiasm for his own and collaborators science, and for the effort he placed on driving forward the biorefining community. Simon was always good company, with an engaging story or an interesting insight. He will be sorely missed by everybody who knew him, and my sympathies go to his family and friends.
