I first met Simon when I joined the Borderline team where he immediately made it clear he would always be available to provide support when needed; whether that was in the form of assisting with tricky cases, providing general guidance or just being available to chat (which almost always involved discussions about how both City and Arsenal were getting on).

His involvement in my development as a Borderline Classifier was invaluable but, more importantly, he was a friend who will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with his family and close friends during this sad time.
