George Walker

I was very sad to learn that George had died.

He was extraordinary.  Truly a Renaissance man but unpretentious, approachable, interested, compassionate and funny, it was a privilege and a pleasure to be a teacher at Cavendish with him at the head.  I loved to hear him speak, both formally and informally.  Once at a teachers’ meeting in Watford he was a guest speaker and I remember feeling an immense sense of pride.  In fact, during his time at Cavendish I always felt proud of the school and of him.

I shall remember him with great fondness and gratitude.
