It’s tough to describe how much of an impact Vantil had on me and others at Capital. The best way to describe it were how much fun we had at our LDO analyst lunches with Vantil. Those lunches tended to have a familiar pattern: 1) Vantil talking about what new cars are hitting the market (strong opinions were expressed), 2) we ordered way too much food, 3) talked about how to restructure the world political system (stronger opinions were expressed), 4) wholesome conversation about our past and how we got here. That really encompasses Vantil – he cared about the individual and where you came from rather than what accolades you had. And we all felt comfortable sharing about our happy and sad past lives when Vantil was around. He created a smoothing and safe environment for everyone.
My condolences to his family. His larger-than-life presence and heart of gold will be missed.
