Fr Stan Dye MAfr

Stan was one of ‘the greats’. Such a good, down-to-earth and holy man – though he would have been the last to think it. He touched so many people’s lives and showed them the gentleness, compassion and humour of God. I remember with great affection his kindness to me on countless occasions during my time in the community with him at St Beuno’s, his deep yet always unassuming wisdom as a spiritual director and supervisor, his wonderful sense of humour, and his generosity, putting what little money he had in my pigeon hole, as I remember, so I could ‘treat myself’ on the occasion of a celebration. He was an anchor of stability in that place. His presence a gift to us all. I thank God for dear Stan and for the gift he made of his life for others. May he rest in peace. My sincerest condolences and prayers are with his family.
