James McVeigh

To this day I remember the day he broke the news to us that he was moving back to Ireland and wouldn’t be our teacher anymore. I remember everyone just being in pure shock and completely gutted that he wouldn’t be teaching us again. I know everyone loved him, treasured him as a teacher and the kind soul he was. He was witty, funny and a passionate teacher. He never failed to make us laugh and everyone always looked forward to his lessons. I have attached a video of him sucking helium out of a ballon on our last lesson, it makes me laugh now 6 years on. I remember those days we would have a tea and toast break in the middle of our two hour lesson (like a true Irish man of course he knew the importance of a good cup of tea). Mr McVeigh was a huge part of our lives at school, he made sociology enjoyable (takes a saint to do that). You will be forever missed James, you were the best!
