Peter was a great friend and supporter of the Royal Veterinary College, both in his role as Principal of St George’s, a sister specialist institution, as well as in his role as interim VC of the Univeristy of London.  More than this, Peter was a kind and supportive colleague, professionally and personally, and an individual who imbued assurance and calm in all his dealings. We are all poorer for his passing but richer for having had the privilege of knowing him.
