Dear Brian’s family,

I wanted to express my deepest sympathy at your loss. I worked with Brian for many years greatly valuing his friendship and his expertise. We worked closely together to set up and maintain the PACS; his exceptional knowledge and intelligence coupled with his humour and level-headedness made him an excellent colleague to work with. He is irreplaceable to our department and that barely touches the sense of loss I am feeling. I have no words to help you with his passing but wanted you to know that he was very well liked and respected and will be sorely missed.
