Greg Benfield

I worked with Greg whilst a Learning Technologist at Oxford Brookes University. He introduced me to the concept of Learning Design through his CDI workshops, all the time emphasising the importance of picking the right tools for effective teaching and learning. He enjoyed a robust debate about the pros and cons of learning technology, and was a great person to offer advice on whether a new tool would work in practice. He also showed me how to engage with academics and understand their perspective. I use these ideas and principles today, through my work at Oxford University on Learning Design. I’m very grateful for this.

My enduring memory of Greg will be seeing him meet regularly with my manager Richard Francis, getting excited about new ideas for supporting teaching in the University.

My condolences to his family and those who worked closely with him.
