Sarah’s support as a teacher changed lives. Her energy and generosity were inimitable. Her pedagogy was detailed orientated and characterised by care. As my teacher on ATC Sarah made me feel valued; when students are believed in, they believe in themselves. She offered so much pedagogic inspiration; through carefully crafted lessons, detailed feedback, attention to individuals, and, most of all, by leading by example. After I graduated, she continued to act as a mentor, modelling a practice and way being in the world that was abundantly generous, fuelled by continuous learning and underpinned by a passion for creativity that was seemingly ceaseless. She opened spaces for others to practice and organised opportunities for conversations. She created networks and held them together. ‘What would SDH do?’ now stings with sadness but also points to her legacy as a remarkable teacher. My deepest condolences to her family.
