I was in a band with John, many many years ago, but my abiding memory of him was outside of the music scene. He was always pleasant, dependable and kind; indeed he helped me out greatly on a couple of occasions. Though I lost contact with him for nearly 30 years, we reconnected recently via social media … he hadn’t changed at all, other than the obvious visible passing of years.
